What Is Geeza Break?

Fire BrigadeGeeza Break is a voluntary organisation providing respite and support services to families who meet the referral criteria. The service is intended to be a short term flexible support offered to families experiencing stress, crisis or isolation. The respite services compliment existing childcare resources therefore cannot be offered as an alternative to other statutory or voluntary childcare services.

The service is managed by a local Management Committee who has overall responsibility to ensure the service is meeting its targets, providing a quality service and secured funding to operate the service. The staff group comprise of Project Leader, Senior Project Worker, 3 Project Workers, Administrator and Clerical Assistant. The staff group coordinate and support the respite service delivered to families by a team of sessional and volunteer Respite Providers.

This web site provides basic information about the services we provide, however we will always be happy to provide further information about our service and discuss your personal circumstances in confidence.
While our offices are based in Duke Street and Troon Street our services are delivered within the local community, e.g. in your own home, at the home of a Respite Carer or in one the many other childcare resources we work in partnership with.
